HotMess Generator ("we," "us," or "our") is a personal fitness motivation app that helps you track your weight loss journey and generate shareable motivational card packs. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.
This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data. By using HotMess Generator, you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive your name and email from those services. We do not receive or store your social login passwords.
Health & Fitness Data
We collect health and fitness data that you voluntarily provide:
- Weight check-ins (weight, date, optional notes)
- Body measurements (chest, waist, hips, arms)
- Goal weight and start weight
- Journey start date
This data is used solely to power your motivational card packs and track your personal progress. We treat all health data with the highest level of care.
Story Profile Data
To personalize your card packs, you may provide story information including your goals, lessons learned, milestones, a personal vibe selection, and optional free-text fields like a mantra. This data is used exclusively for generating your content.
Purchase Information
If you subscribe to HotMess Premium, your payment is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect, process, or store your payment card details or billing address. We receive only a purchase confirmation and subscription status from RevenueCat, our subscription management provider.
Usage & Device Data
We may collect basic analytics such as app opens, feature usage, and crash reports to improve the app experience. We do not collect your location, contacts, call logs, or browsing history.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data for these purposes only:
- Generating your personalized motivational card packs
- Displaying your progress charts and check-in history
- Sending check-in reminder notifications (if you opt in)
- Managing your Premium subscription status
- Improving app stability and fixing bugs
- Responding to your support requests
We do not use your health data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the core app functionality described above.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with:
- Firebase (Google) — Cloud database and authentication. Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers. See Firebase Privacy.
- RevenueCat — Subscription management. Receives your anonymous user ID and purchase events. See RevenueCat Privacy.
- Apple / Google — Process payments for Premium subscriptions. Governed by their respective privacy policies.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to comply with a legal process.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to your authenticated account via Firebase Security Rules — no other user can read or modify your data.
While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (available in Account settings), all your data — including check-ins, story profile, card packs, and account information — is permanently deleted from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
Your Rights & Choices
You have the right to:
- Access your data — view all your check-ins, story profile, and card packs within the app
- Export your data — use the Export Data feature in Account settings to download a copy
- Edit your data — update check-ins, story profile, and account details at any time
- Delete your data — delete individual check-ins or your entire account
- Opt out of notifications — disable reminders in Account settings
If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to data portability, to restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children's Privacy
HotMess Generator is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@hotmessgenerator.app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
